Our Journey
How it all started
Founded in 1996, Cape Fruit Processors began with a commitment to crafting the finest fruit juices, sourced from the fertile lands of South Africa. Over the years, we’ve grown from a small local operation into a leading name in fruit juice manufacturing, supplying top-quality, fresh juice products to markets both locally and globally.
CFP was founded in 1996 by Mr. Vonnie Thalwitzer, who started the business with the founding of the first factory in Paarl
Our factory in Malelane soon joined forces with Paarl to become part of the Vonnie Thalwitzer Group of Companies.
In 2008 CFP built a new plant in Kirkwood.
In 2011 our newly build factory in Hoedspruit became operational.
In 2012 CFP, in partnership with the Citrusdal fruit producers, acquired a 5th juice processing plant in the heart of Citrusdal.
The CPO factory situated at Mondplaas in the Eastern Cape was completed in February 2021. This factory specialises in adding value to Cold Pressed Citrus Oils.

Where in SA are we located?
South Africa has grown into one of the major role players in the global citrus market. More than 88 000ha are currently grown and new plantings are on a steep incline.
Our factories are strategically located in some of South Africa’s most renowned fruit-producing regions, ensuring we source the freshest and highest quality produce directly from the heart of the country’s agricultural hubs.
In Paarl, known for its world-class vineyards and orchards, we process a variety of fruits that thrive in the Western Cape’s fertile soil.
Citrusdal, nestled in the Cederberg mountains, is famed for its citrus groves, providing us with juicy oranges and lemons.
Hoedspruit, in the Limpopo Province, is recognized as the heart of South Africa’s mango and citrus production.
Malelane in Mpumalanga, near the Kruger National Park, is celebrated for its subtropical fruits.
Kirkwood in the Sundays River Valley is renowned for its vast citrus estates, contributing to our range of export-quality citrus products.
